On Staying Positive
“Life is an obstacle course. You succeed at one thing and then you move on to the next. When an obstacle is tough, you try harder. When an obstacle is insurmountable, you change course. But you never sit down and refuse to finish.”
- Bethenny Frankel

THE 90s KIDS/TEENS AND POP CULTURE
![]() |
There were already computers in the 90s, but our world did not revolve around them- at least for children and teens growing up in that era. Looking back, I can't help but feel nostalgic about it. I personally think that during those times, there was still a balance between social and electronic interaction.

Heartbreak Survival 101
At some point in our lives, we experience heartbreaks. There are a lot of causes for this, but I'm referring specifically to heartbreaks caused by a failed romance. It's usually extra hard on those who are being left than those who initiated the breakup. It would be tough, yes, but there is something that you can do to help ease the pain a little bit.

I Had A Diary Once...
When I was a teenager, I kept a diary to record the events that happened in my own little world. I wrote about just anything - friends, crushes, teachers and even people I don’t get along with. I wrote about exactly what happened in a certain day and what I think or feel about it. I religiously wrote my entries everyday for a whole year. Eventually I started writing only whenever something major happened. Then it stopped altogether.

Why I Hate The PUJs in Cebu
I've never owned a car in my life. Reasons: 1.I don't know how to drive; and 2. I don't have the motivation to learn because I don't have the moolah to get a car. That is why I had to suffer the consequences of having to commute- along with thousands of Cebuanos- everyday.
Reflections of a Prodigal Daughter
from her deep slumber she awakens
to he shrill cries of her child,
she slips from her warm covers
and check on the baby she loved so well
to give all the tenderness she thought that you might need
telling you to hush,
and that she'll shoo away the monsters
that had come to haunt you in your sleep,
to let you know that mama is there to care.
Day and night he toils
to be bring forth the fruits of the soil
a labor of love or all his sons
to show them that some things could become grand
out of a cunning hand.
with his plow he braved the sun
until his sweat boils;
with his word he beckons the moon
til his dreams will be their dreams.

First Rain
The earth bursts into a joyful song,
Like wet tongues on parched lips
When th first drops touch soil,
As it quenched its thirst after a long summer spell.
With open arms earth embraces heaven's tears
Eager to welcome the new season,
Like the traveller who yearns
a refreshing bath to cleanse the soul
after a long, long journey
Ah, the beauty of first rain.
Like wet tongues on parched lips
When th first drops touch soil,
As it quenched its thirst after a long summer spell.

Same Sex Romance
I was riding the jeepney one day, when a couple of women hailed it and boarded. One was a real looker- long waves of locks, attractive eyes, flawless skin; while her companion is average looking, with shortish hair, big shirt. When I disembarked from the jeepney, they went down too. That's when I knew that they were my new neighbors.
